Established in 2007 on the Sunshine Coast as a Licensed Travel Agency, Live It Travel quickly grew into a trusted source and contact point for hundreds of travellers planning their trips worldwide.
The Live It Travel team live and breath the world of travel. With passion to explore the globe and a huge sense of adventure, our team have travelled, trekked, cruised, backpacked and lived in many regions around the world. Through our own experience as-well as stories from our valued clients, we have plenty of travel tips to share.
Kate Dever – General Manager.
Kate grew up in Wairoa, Hawkes Bay, a small country town in New Zealand. Always having ambition to travel, Kate spread her wings at the age of 18 and moved to Melbourne, Victoria. Spending two years in Australia’s culture hub she fell in-love with the hustle and bustle of city life but once again felt the travel bug approaching and made a sea change to London. Spending a year and a half living and working in London, with Europe on her doorstep, Kate made the most of her time by exploring new countries every chance she could.
After many incredible adventures throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe, Kate travelled back to Australia to live in beautiful Tasmania. After 5 months the travel bug struck again – an adventure to Egypt, Jordan and Israel broadened Kate’s horizon. Different cultural experiences and ways of life brought Kate home with new knowledge and a huge appreciation for the little things. Relocating to the Sunshine Coast in 2012 Kate wanted to keep an ongoing sense of travel in her everyday life and share her experiences with others. Jumping into the travel industry she began her career with Live It Travel.
In 2013 Kate grew a desire to learn more about South East Asia, so she packed her bags and took a few weeks off to explore parts of Vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia. The start of 2014 brought a relaxing holiday to Fiji, before later in the year escaping for a work holiday to India. Always having Africa on her bucket list and a huge love for animals, Kate ventured to Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana in August 2015.
Kate’s most recent trip was to Finland and Estonia as part of an agent familiarization trip in November 2015. Kate was lucky enough to visit Tallinn (Estonia), Helsinki, Rovaniemi (Santa at the Santa Claus Village!), Saariselka (sleeping in igloos at Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort!), Inari (seeing the Northern Lights!), Menesjarvi (experiencing the Sami culture at reindeer farm) and back to Helsinki.
Lin Wang – Service Manager, Chinese Market.
Growing up in Chang Zhi, a small city 5 hours inland from Beijing, China, Lin moved to Australia in 2013 to further her studies with a Master of International Tourism and to pursue her career in the travel industry. Having lived on the Gold Coast for 2 years, Lin gained service experience in the well-known hotel chain, the Meriton. Lin also worked for a premium tour company escorting senior travel groups to some of the Gold Coast’s most popular destinations.
Lin has traveled many places throughout her home country making her our China guru – if you are planning a trip to China, Lin is the person to talk to. She can offer first hand knowledge and insights on where to go and what to see. From small Chinese villages to the big cities – she knows the ins-and-outs of each place!
Lin recently traveled to Fiji, spending 4 nights aboard the ‘Blue Lagoon’ cruise ship around the islands. Her next trip idea is to Thailand.
Erin Bacchi – Marketing Manager.
Erin joined the Live It Travel team in 2015 to evolve and enhance our brand. With a degree in Graphic Design, Communications & Advertising, along with several years experience working in Graphic Design & Marketing agencies, Erin is a perfect fit for the team as she has a passion for travel and exploring the world. Having resided in Canada & London she has also travelled throughout America, Europe, North Africa and South East Asia. Working with Live It Travel allows Erin to incorporate her love for Travel with Design & Marketing. She keeps watch for all the greatest travel offers and promotions to share with our valued customers. Erin is currently living and working abroad in Canada and is looking forward to travelling through Peru, Bolivia, Columbia and Cuba throughout the end of 2016 to gain many more experiences and stories to share.
