DAY 1 Tromso

Arrive in Tromso and embark your small ship. This evening, enjoy a Welcome Dinner.(D)

DAY 2 Trollfjord, Lofoten Islands

Enjoy a full day to explore the Lofoten Islands. This morning stop at Reine, located at the outermost of the Lofoten Islands then onwards to Sund, to visit a Blacksmith at the Fishery Museum. Continue across the Lofoten Islands to Borg to a Viking Museum, featuring recreations of Viking homes. Enjoy lunch before traveling to Svolvær where you rejoin your ship.(BLD)

DAY 3 Bronnoysund, Torghatten

Cruise past Vikingen and see the Arctic Circle monument. Sail through Bronnoysund and admire Mount Torghatten, one of the most famous landmarks on the Norwegian coast. At this magnificent site, you will have a choice of guided walks, including one walk that takes you to view the legendary ‘hole’ in the mountain.(BLD)

DAY 4 Trondheim

In Trondheim visit the world’s oldest open-air museum, the Norwegian Folk Museum. Learn about local life from the 16th century.(BLD)

DAY 5 Nordfjord, Olden

Arrive at the village of Olden and pass beautiful lakes on the way to the spectacular Briksdal Glacier. Take in the awe-inspiring spectacle from a nearby lookout.(BLD)

DAY 6 Bygstad

Absorb the stunning scenery in and around Bygstad then continue to the open-air Sunnfjord Museum, home to antiquarian buildings set in an authentic cultural landscape that displays a variety of building techniques and traditions from the 16th through the 19th century. After stopping to explore, a particularly picturesque drive takes you to the stunning region of Norway known as ‘waterfall country’.(BLD)

DAY 7 Sognefjord, Naeroyfjord, Flåm

Cruise Sognefjord, Norway’s largest fjord and the third longest in the world. Continue on to World Heritage-listed Naeroyfjord. Tonight spend a relaxed evening in Flåm.(BLD)

DAY 8 Flåm, Undredal

Embark on one of Europe’s most scenic and steepest rail journeys along the Flåm Railway as you rise to 850 metres above sea level. After lunch, traverse the remote countryside on the way to Undredal.(BLD)

DAY 9 Bergen

Embark on a guided sightseeing tour of the Bergen old quarter, with its quaint wooden houses and cobbled streets. Visit the home of Norway’s most famous composer, Edvard Grieg. Enjoy a private recital of some of Grieg’s classical masterpieces.(BLD)

DAY 10 Rosendal, Hardangerfjord

Dock in the town of Rosendal, located on Hardangerfjord, and travel to the village of Sunndal. Walk to the serenely captivating Bondhus Lake, surrounded by a stunning backdrop of fjords and mountains.(BLD)

DAY 11 Pulpit Rock, Lysefjord, Stavanger

Today choose between taking a hike to the stunning lookout at Pulpit Rock, or embarking on a scenic cruise through Lysefjord followed by a walk through Stavanger, visiting the Canning Museum.(BLD)

DAY 12 Kragero

Board a canal boat and travel along one of the most beautiful waterways – the Telemark Canal. Carved into the rock over a century ago, the canal connects the coast of Telemark with the Norwegian interior through a series of locks and canals.(BLD)

DAY 13 Oslo

On a tour of Oslo wander amid more than 200 sculptures at Vigeland Sculpture Park, then continue to the Viking Ship Museum. This afternoon, visit the Norsk Folkemuseum, one of the largest open-air museums in Europe.(BLD)

DAY 14 Marstrand, Skagen

Enjoy a tour of Marstrand. See the impressive 17th-century Carlsten Fort, then sail towards Skagen where you have a choice of tours. Travel to the northern tip of Denmark, to a sandbar between the Kattegat and the Skagerak seas, known as Grenen. Alternatively, take part in a walking tour along the waterfront and through the city’s cobblestone streets. Both tours visit the Skagen Museum, which tells the history of the town’s artist colony.(BLD)

DAY 15 Copenhagen

Your ship will be docked in Copenhagen today giving you the chance to enjoy a city tour taking in the wonderful bridge-spanned canals, copper-roofed buildings and manicured parks. Continue to Amalienborg Palace, the prime residence of Princess Mary’s Danish Royal Family. Perhaps you may like to take the opportunity to further explore this vibrant city tonight and maybe visit a local restaurant.(BLD)

DAY 16 Helsingor

Stopping in the Danish city of Helsingor, head for Kronborg Castle, immortalised by Shakespeare in his play, Hamlet. Admire views over Oresund, and visit the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art.(BLD)

DAY 17 Christianso Island, Bornholm Island

Arrive on Christianso Island and choose between learning about everyday life on the island; discovering the history of the island’s fortress; or embarking on a nature walk. Later visit Bornholm Island and traverse the lush countryside for an afternoon of gourmet delights.(BLD)

DAY 18 Gdansk

Arrive in the old Hanseatic port of Gdansk. See the old quarter including the Gothic St Mary’s Church and the Artus Court. Visit Solidarity Square and the Angel of Freedom monument, before strolling the narrow cobbled streets of the Main Town.(BLD)

DAY 19 Klaipeda

Founded in 1252, Klaipeda was almost destroyed during World War II. Here, perhaps set off on a sightseeing tour to the Martynas Mazvydas Sculpture Park. Alternatively, discover the underground Soviet base and visit the Cold War Museum.(BLD)

DAY 20 Gotland Island, Visby

Select from two sightseeing options in Riga. DAY 35 Mjoifjordur, Nekaupstadur

Explore the lesser known fjords in the north east of Iceland, only accessible by small ship. Visit a local art gallery, Museum of Natural History and Maritime Museum in the small town of Nekaupstadur. Alternatively you can hike to a vantage point offering great views of the surrounding area.(BLD)

Today we see Europe’s largest glacier, the enormous Vatnajokull Glacier, so large it is often called an icecap. On a guided tour venture out on the glacier to view the spectacular crater in the ice. On return enjoy lunch featuring local seafood and watch as icebergs fall into Jokulsarlon lagoon.(BLD)

DAY 37 Westmann Islands

Visit the Westmann Islands’ only community, Heimaey, whose residents witnessed the birth of a mountain in 1973 when Eldfell, known as Mount Fire, sprang up overnight burying over 400 homes in volcanic ash and lava. Later we circumnavigate Surtsey Island which rose from the sea in 1963.(BLD)
