Day One Montreal, Quebec

Today arrive in Montreal, Quebec, often referred to as ‘the gem of the St. Lawrence’ and ‘the Paris of North America’. Enjoy a Welcome Dinner aboard your ship.

Day Two Saguenay River to Rimouski

Breathtaking views abound today as you cruise the Saguenay River, boarded by dramatic cliffs which create some of Canada’s most stunning natural scenery. The Saguenay is noted for its majestic fjords and phenomenal wildlife, including a variety of whales, seals and birds.

Day Three Rimouski, Reford Gardens

Start the day with a private visit and guided tour of Les Jardins de Metis, also known as the Reford Gardens. These unique gardens are bold and innovative yet traditional. Later cruise south along the St. Lawrence River to your next port of call, Quebec City.

Day Four Quebec City Sightseeing

Today take a tour of the private garden of La Seigneurie de I’ile d’Orleans. Afterwards, enjoy a sightseeing tour of the highlights of the beautiful city of Québec.

Day Five Montréal

Arrive in Montréal this afternoon and embark on a city highlights tour. Then, enjoy a guided tour of the world famous Jardin Botanique de Montréal located in the Olympic Park. Here, marvel at over 20,000 species of plants as you explore the 31 gardens which have been planted over 75 hectares.

Day Six Montréal to Ogdensburg

Cruising south into the United States you travel the St. Lawrence Seaway, the gateway from the Atlantic Ocean to the North American Great Lakes. The Seaway is a system of locks, canals, and channels dotted with waterfront communities, scenic islands, and amazing wildlife habitats.

Day Seven Ogdensburg, Thousand Islands, Singer and Boldt Castles

Today, cruise through the splendour and beauty of the Thousand Islands region, stopping to visit tiny Dark Island in Chippewa Bay and to tour the stately and elegant Singer Castle. Later, cruise to Alexander Bay and visit the majestic Boldt Castle and Gardens, built for the wife of a hotel mogul but abandoned due to a tragedy, which you will learn about. Your day ends in Oswego, NY, your port for the night.

Day Eight Oswego to Sylvan Beach

This morning you may choose to take a local shuttle on a panoramic loop around the charming area of Oswego and view some of the highlights. Your cruise continues along the Oswego Canal on
your way to Sylvan Beach, located on the shores of shimmering Oneida Lake.

Day Nine Sylvan Beach to Amsterdam, Freedom of Choice

Enjoy a full day on the Erie Canal’s calm, blue water surrounded by the unspoiled beauty of the countryside. You may choose to visit Cooperstown, NY and meet the ship later in the day at Amsterdam, NY. Located in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains, Cooperstown is home to the Baseball Hall of Fame, the Farmers Museum and the Fenimore Art Museum. Choose to visit either of these as your Freedom of Choice option today.

Day Ten Amsterdam, Naumkeag Mansion and The Mount, Troy, Freedom of Choice

Today you have the option to continue cruising on the Erie Canal or you can motorcoach through lovely countryside and the Berkshires Lenox, MA to visit Naumkeag Mansion and Gardens or the Norman Rockwell museum, if you enjoy art. Next visit The Mount, a turn-of-the-century home that Edith Wharton designed and built herself. She was an established author of fiction, architecture and gardens. Later arrive in Troy, known for its Victorian architecture and abundant Tiffany windows as seen in such films as Martin Scorsese’s Age of Innocence.

Day Eleven Troy, Poughkeepsie, Springwood, Freedom of Choice

Heading south on the Hudson River, stop in Poughkeepsie NY and choose to take a tour of Historic Hyde Park, including a visit to Springwood, the estate of Franklin Roosevelt, America’s only four term president; or visit the Vanderbilt Mansion, a National Historic Site. You are sure to enjoy its 211 acres of park land that boast centuries old tree plantings and stunning Hudson River and Catskill Mountain views.

Day Twelve Poughkeepsie, West Point to New York City, Freedom of Choice

Cruise to West Point, NY located in the heart of breathtaking Hudson River Valley. Today you have the choice of three touring options including a visit to the beautiful West Point Military Academy campus, with its gothic revival-style chapel. Alternatively, visit Boscobel House and Gardens, a 19th century country house. The final touring option is Stonecrop Gardens, a 12-acre highland garden comprising a diverse collection of plants including a woodland and water garden. Later today arrive in New York City and enjoy the unparalleled views of the harbour, the Statue of Liberty and the distinctive city skyline.

Day Thirteen New York City Sightseeing

Start your morning with a visit to the famed New York Botanical Gardens, boasting one of the world’s greatest collections of flora. Its 250 acres include dramatic rock outcroppings, rolling hills, waterfalls and ponds. It also houses the nation’s largest Victorian-era glasshouse. Later visit Kykuit, home to four generations of the Rockefeller family, Kykuit displays magnificent expansive garden terraces, garden ornaments and many fountains, as well as spectacular views of the Hudson Valley and also a private art collection.

Day Fourteen New York City

Today is free to explore New York City at your leisure. You may choose to visit some of the many galleries or museums or perhaps indulge in some shopping or walk the famous High Line. Tonight, gather with your fellow travellers atop the deck of your ship for a Farewell Cocktail Party.
