ITINERARY

Day 1 Hobart

Collect your vehicle on arrival in Hobart. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore Hobart including Constitution Dock, Salamanca Place and Battery Point.

Hotel: Travelodge Hobart.

Day 2 Hobart to Strahan (300km)

Travel across the heart of Tasmania through the Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park. Stop in Queenstown then continue on to the quiet town of Strahan, situated on Macquarie Harbour.

Hotel: Strahan Village.

Day 3 Strahan to Cradle Mountain National Park (159km)

This morning take an  optional cruise along the Gordon River before  travelling north to  Zeehan, a booming mining town in the early 1900s. The Cradle  Mountain-Lake St Clair  National Park is renowned for its walking tracks with spectacular mountain peaks and lakes.

Day 4 Cradle Mountain National Park

Time at leisure to explore Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park including many walks and spectacular scenery.

Day 5 Cradle Mountain National Park to Launceston (142km)

Depart Cradle Mountain and travel east to Mole Creek. Along the way visit Marakoopa Cave with its glow worm display. Continue on to Launceston and visit Cataract Gorge.

Hotel: Leisure Inn Penny Royal.

Day 6 Launceston to St Helens (169km)

Depart Launceston and travel to Scottsdale. Near Pyengana take a walk to St Columba Falls and pick up some local cheese. Continue east to the small bayside town of St Helens, a fishing port known for its crayfish. Visit The Gardens and the Bay of Fires Coastal Reserves near Binalong Bay for stunning beaches.

Day 7 St Helens to Freycinet National Park (134km)

Travel through the towns of Scamander and St Marys, before stopping for pancakes at Elephant Pass. Or take the coast road from Falmouth to Chain of Lagoons. Stopn at the small resort town of Bicheno before continuing south through Coles Bay to Freycinet National Park.

Day 8 Freycinet National Park

Time at leisure today to explore all that Freycinet National Park has to offer, including abundant wildlife, a variety of walking trails and spectacular beaches like Wineglass Bay. (B)

Day 9 Freycinet National Park to Hobart (377km)

Depart Freycinet and continue south to Sorell then on to Port Arthur Historic Site. Pass by Eaglehawk Neck and visit the Blow Hole and Tasman Arch on the return trip to Hobart. (B)

Day 10 Hobart

Your car is booked until today and should be returned to the airport or city by the same time as it was picked up on Day 1 to avoid any additional charges.
