Visit ancient cellars from centuries past and see how these magnificent wines are produced. DAY 1 Frankfurt Airport

Arrival and pick-up at Frankfurt Airport or nearby Hotel in the morning. Travel the scenic route along the picturesque Rhine River, stopping for a light lunch along the way if you choose.

Late afternoon, arrival into the Mosel Valley’s, quaint town of Cochem right on the Mosel River and settle into our accommodation for the next 2 nights. Welcome Dinner at Hotel.(D)

DAY 2 Mosel Valley

After breakfast at the Hotel- we will discover the 1,000-year-old Reichsburg Castle on a guided tour followed by a ride on the Mosel Express to explore the sights of this ancient town. After lunch at your expense, we will visit a local winery, where we will enjoy a tour and wine tasting before heading back to the Hotel, where you can enjoy dinner at one of the local restaurants. (B)

DAY 3 Mosel Valley

After breakfast at the Hotel, following check-out we will take a scenic drive along the Mosel River to Traben-Trabach, where we will board one of the Fleet on a wonderful relaxing 2 hour scenic cruise to Bernkastel-Kues, this beautiful quaint village, where we will join in all the festivities of the famous annual “Vintage Harvest Festival”. Visit the markets, watch traditional dancing in the squares, explore the quaint village shops, Spitzhauschen, a precariously narrow 14th century building with a local cheese and meat cafe inside and the beautiful town square.

We will visit the Vinothek and Museum, learn a little of the history of the vines in this famous German wine region. Then down to the cellars, where you can taste as many wines as you can handle from the wineries of the region and purchase to enjoy later.(B)

DAY 4 Mosel Valley

Today after breakfast it’s all about the Festival, enjoy the highlights and observe the Mosel Valley Vintage Harvest Parade, this awe-inspiring procession of floats, represent all the unique wine regions in the Mosel Valley. Enjoy the Festival Fare, Bratwurst, one metre if you dare, Apfel Strudel to die for and of course the new harvest wine. A day and into the night making memories you will treasure forever.(B)

DAY 5 Mosel Valley

After Breakfast at our accommodation & check-out we will be the guests of a family owned Estate Winery, since 1789, near Traben-Trarbach, where we will have a guided tour of the entire winery operation, and finish with a wine tasting of their latest releases.

Followed by lunch, not included, at a beautiful café/restaurant overlooking the Mosel River.

We will check into a Wine Estate tonight to experience the feel of living on a local vintners farm and enjoy a beautifully prepared, regional dinner, with matching wines.(BD)

DAY 6 Mosel Valley

After Breakfast and check-out, we will have a scenic drive stopping off at Neumagen Dhron to view the replica of the old Roman Wine Ship, the Romans used to transport the wine barrels down the river in ancient times. Drive to Trier the oldest city in Germany, founded around 16BC, for our 2-night stay. Visit the Porta Nigra, (Black Gate) a perfect Roman structure standing at the entrance to the City from the 2nd Century. Jump onboard the Romer Express for a trip around the City. Enjoy lunch at one of the many cafes in the square.

Afternoon explore the sights at your own pace, the Cathedral, Trier Museum, definitely worth seeing, (full of Roman Antiquities) shopping. Perhaps the Karl Marx house, an 18th century Baroque townhouse where the thinker was born, now a museum.

Check into our accommodation in the Roman City of Trier for the next 2 nights. Enjoy the local German Cuisine at one of the many restaurants around the City.(B)

DAY 7 Mosel Valley

After Breakfast at the Hotel, we will explore some of the Roman ruins and well-preserved structures from the past, the Roman baths, and amphitheatre with our included Antiken Card. Walk these ancient areas, where the Romans lived.

In the afternoon we will visit a Sekt House (Sparkling Wine) for a visit of the cellars and tasting.

In the evening we will enjoy all the German culture & cuisine at our Farewell dinner at a local specialty restaurant.(BD)

DAY 8 Trier railway station

After Breakfast included at the Hotel, transfer to Trier railway station for your onward journey.(B)
